Shipping Container Lines (CSCL), part of the China Shipping
Group, is a Shangai based shipping company that operates over 100
container vessels with a slot capacity over 120,000 TEU. This ranks
them amongst the biggest shipping companies in the world with regular
liner services to many parts of the world in addition to extensive
coastal feeder services in the Asian region linking ports between
Japan and the Middle East to their various hub ports.
CSCL commenced a new service from the Far East &
South East Asia to and from South Africa & West Africa during
the latter part of 2001 in a ten vessel sharing agreement with two
other lines. This service is called the WAX service and is one further
step by CSCL towards their goal of becoming a truly
global carrier. Seaclad Maritime Pty Ltd was appointed agents in South
Africa from inception of this WAX service.

Africa Line is a Curacao registered shipping line, which
started its shipping activities at the beginning of 1995 with regular
sailings from South African ports (Durban / Cape Town ) to West Africa
(Walvis Bay / Dakar Range), with multi-purpose vessels for container
traffic as well as conventional cargoes.
PAL started its service to meet the needs of the
expanding exports markets of the South African industry, in particular
to West Africa, with intentions to expand into other markets between
West Africa and India, South East Asia v.v.
PAL is part of the international UAL/HMT group and
draws the resources of the group's knowledge and experience in West
Africa dating back to 1975 and the existing network of agencies and
own offices throughout the West African Coast.
PAL offers regular sailings with multi-purpose vessels
with self sustaining ship's gear, capable of handling general cargo
and containers as well as reefer containers from the ports of Durban
and Cape Town in South Africa and from the port of Walvis Bay of Namibia,
with calls to ports along the West African coast.
PAL is concentrating mainly on the Angolan ports
of Luanda, Lobito, Soyo and Cabinda, the Nigerian port of Lagos and
the outports Warri, Port Harcourt, Calabar, to Ghana, Port of Tema,
Takoradi. All other ports on the West African coast like Pointe Noire,
Port Gentil, Libreville, Douala, Malabo, Lome Abidjan, Conakry and
Dakar will be called on inducement.

Founded
in 1981 Spanfreight has grown to become one of east
Africa's leading Ships Agencies with offices in Nairobi, Mombassa
and Comoros. In addition to straight agency work Spanfreight also
manages and operates the United Africa Feeder Service (UAFL). This
is a common carrier feeder service which hubs out of Dar es Salaam
and provides a 14 day service to Tanga, Moroni, Mayotte, Mutsamudu,
